Job summary

Astrolab, The Lunar Operations Company, seeks a Lead Avionics Test Engineer to build and lead a team of test engineers. You will own the full lifecycle of avionics test systems, from architecture to production sustainment, and partner with design teams to implement test feedback and coverage.

You will design automated test systems, PCBA and harnesses, and test software, while setting team standards for validation and quality in line with our development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required.
• 5+ years in avionics, hardware test, manufacturing, or test automation.
• Experience leading engineers and developing automated test solutions for high-reliability electronics.
• Embedded software development and firmware integration experience.
• Familiarity with environmental testing standards (MIL-STD-810, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of avionics test engineers with hiring, direction, and collaboration.
• Own lifecycle of avionics unit test systems from architecture to production sustainment.
• Partner with design to implement Design for Test feedback and test coverage.
• Design and develop automated test systems, PCBA/harness design, and test software.
• Set team standards for validation, documentation, and quality per processes.
• Root-cause test anomalies and production failures; support vehicle-level investigations.
