Job summary

Sierra Space in Colorado is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician IV to install, inspect, test, adjust and repair avionics systems for aerospace vehicles. This senior role requires advanced hands-on work, fabrication of fixtures, and adherence to 5S, FOD and ESD practices to ensure high reliability.

You will collaborate with Test Engineers, provide input on test setups, and specialize in two of three test work centers.

Qualifications

• Advanced hands-on capability with avionics equipment and systems.
• Ability to perform complex equipment setup and maintenance tasks.
• Proficiency with precision cleaning and chemistry processes.
• Strong knowledge of 5S, FOD and ESD practices.
• Skilled in packaging and handling of hardware components.
• Lead or SME for a Work Center in a team environment.
• Provide input to Test Engineers for test setup and procedures.
• Specialize in two of three test work centers.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment and systems.
• Perform advanced equipment setup and fabricate fixtures as needed.
• Use precision tools to fabricate fixtures from stock alloys with simple geometry.
• Apply advanced cleaning and chemistry processes; maintain PPE and safety.
• Document issues found during inspections and assist with test procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to meet timelines and quality goals.
