Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Space Systems Engineer, Avionics to lead the design, integration, and testing of avionics systems for the Winnebago Spaceship. You will ensure readiness for launch and reentry operations, collaborating with engineering teams to meet mission objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of system design, test planning, and validation experience.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4-20mA devices, and general test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define project scopes from concept to production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, and mass predictions.
• Analyze architecture for faults, develop mitigation plans, and support fault handling during integration and operation.
• Conduct verification plans for avionics systems on flight and HITL hardware, ensuring readiness for launch.
• Participate in mission operations as an Avionics specialist or system operator.
