Job summary

Belcan Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer 5 for an immediate start in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on collaborating with cross-functional avionics teams to develop and deliver system solutions and to support requirements development and testing in a lab environment.

Responsibilities include design and requirement development, test script creation and execution, and verification planning. Strong knowledge of avionics systems and IMA is required, with DO-related standards experience

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) at the system level is required.
• Exposure to requirements development, verification, testing, or model-based engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of systems, software, integration, and test engineers to develop and deliver avionics system solutions.
• Support development, analysis, and refinement of system requirements and interfaces.
• Complete assignments involving Design and Requirement Developments activities
• On-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness, and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases)
• Support requirements development, requirements-based testing execution, test script development, execution of scenario-based, robustness, and unintended function/behavior testing in a lab environment. Flexibility is necessary to maximize test assets utilization.
• Be responsible for the troubleshooting and reporting of issues resulting from development cycles; the candidate will be capable of providing internal status as well as directly reporting to the OEMs as necessary.
• Test script development and execution
• Contribute to verification planning and test development to ensure implementations satisfy system requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews of requirements, design artifacts, and test procedures, while incorporating feedback into your own work.
• Assist with system integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in lab and development environments.
