Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Avionics Subject Matter Expert (Senior Project Engineer) to lead systems safety analyses and oversee flight software requirements for human-rated spaceflight programs. You will coordinate with government agencies, prime contractors, and internal teams to ensure safety and mission readiness across avionics hardware and software.

Responsibilities include drafting hazard analyses, leading design reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and shaping safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM fields required.
• Minimum 12 years of experience authoring systems safety hazard analyses for avionics hardware/software.
• Experience with CDR/DCR/CoFR processes and flight software requirements.

Responsibilities

• Author systems safety hazard analyses for avionics hardware and software across major programs.
• Develop and recommend abort conditions and flight software requirements.
• Lead and participate in weekly technical meetings with avionics and safety teams.
