Job summary
A defense contractor is seeking a Senior Avionics System Safety Engineer to support NASA's space program in Huntsville. Responsibilities include evaluating avionics hazard analyses, authoring safety reports, and ensuring compliance with safety requirements. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's in engineering and over 10 years of relevant experience in system safety engineering. Qualifications
Must have 10+ years of recent and related work experience in system safety engineering.
Demonstrated hands‑on experience developing/reviewing hazard analyses and safety data packages.
Ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate lifecycle risks for complex engineering systems.
Responsibilities
Independently evaluate Prime Contractor-provided avionics hazard analyses and safety products.
Lead/author hazard analysis for avionics support equipment and facilities.
Participate in milestone reviews and safety reviews.
