Job summary

Southwest Research Institute in Dayton, Ohio is seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Systems Architect to lead the design and integration of multi-partition avionics LRUs within an ARINC 653 environment.

You will collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Software, Firmware and Mechanical engineering teams, guiding V&V activities and client communications, while mentoring junior engineers and driving architecture roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of embedded architecture design in RTOS multi-partition environments.
• Experience with Green Hills or DDC-I DEOS and LDRA tooling.
• Proven leadership of development and test teams.
• Experience with hardware-software integration and lab debugging.
• DO-178 processes and artifacts knowledge.
• Experience with BSP and driver development and multiple buses.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design multi-partition systems in ARINC 653 environments.
• Lead teams through full development cycle: requirements, design, V&V, and flight test.
• Collaborate with customers and upper management to meet architectures.
• Mentor engineers and guide cross-disciplinary teams across E, S, M disciplines.
• Support marketing, write proposals, and develop product roadmaps.
• Interact with clients to translate requirements into architectures.
