Job summary

A leading research institute is seeking an experienced engineer to architect and design avionics systems. The successful candidate will lead teams through the full product development cycle, ensuring robust embedded architecture designs. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, 8+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in C/C++ and RTOS environments. Knowledge of DO-178 processes and debugging skills are essential. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, with locations in San Antonio, Texas or Dayton, Ohio.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing embedded architecture within a RTOS environment.
• 2-5 years of experience leading development and test engineering teams.
• Experience with integrating software onto hardware and debugging.
• Familiarity with DO-178 processes and artifacts.
• Knowledge of BSP and driver development.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design multi-partition systems in an ARINC 653 environment.
• Lead teams to develop avionics/mission/payload LRUs throughout the development cycle.
• Collaborate with teams for avionics grade LRUs design.
• Mentor and develop complex embedded systems.
• Support marketing efforts and develop product roadmaps.
