Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced PCBA Inspector for a 1st shift role (5:00AM-3:30PM, Mon-Fri) with ~50-hour weeks and occasional overtime.

You will perform receiving inspections of PCBA and avionics subassemblies, travel to supplier sites, maintain inspection records, and ensure compliance with NASA 8739/IPC standards. You will mentor others and uphold safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of PCBA inspector experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in inspecting solder joints, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and SMT per NASA 8739 and/or IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 standards.
• Knowledge of cable harness inspection following NASA-STD-8739.3/8739.4 and IPC-A-620 standards.
• Experience with continuity testing using a DMM and other portable measuring devices.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, manuals and specifications with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspections of PCBA and QA checks on avionics systems and subassemblies to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
• Travel approximately 80% of the time to supplier sites for source inspections, audits, and supplier quality/support activities.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation of avionics components and systems.
• Stay current with industry standards, regulations and best practices for avionics QA and inspection processes.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on avionics quality inspection techniques and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment in line with safety regulations.
