Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Clearwater, FL to own the full design lifecycle of avionics PCBs. You will translate complex requirements into analog and digital circuit designs, selecting components that meet stringent aerospace and regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on CCA design, simulations, and documentation with FAA compliance, and requires strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration in a fully onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of board design experience in aerospace.
• Proven electronics design and implementation for aerospace applications.
• Hands-on CCA design including card-level architecture and layouts.
• Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience managing component obsolescence and substitutions.
• Familiarity with FAA aerospace requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Translate avionics requirements into analog and digital circuit board designs.
• Select components meeting performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.
• Perform simulations to validate designs against specs.
• Create schematics and CCAs layouts using EDA tools.
• Develop test procedures and verify board performance.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Maintain design records, documentation, and configuration control.
