Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and test avionics enclosures for the Human Landing System program. You will work with a cross-disciplinary team to ensure performance and reliability in harsh environments, developing 3D CAD models, drawings, and test fixtures.

You will contribute throughout the design cycle, conduct tests, reviews, and collaborate with electrical engineers on PCB and interconnect systems, while advancing mission-critical spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of experience designing ruggedized electronic enclosures or similar high-performance hardware.
• Experience with static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal analysis.
• Proficient in Creo for 3D CAD modeling; familiarity with Windchill and Ansys is a plus.
• Ability to communicate design concepts and analysis results clearly.

Responsabilités

• Contribute as a member of a cross disciplinary team in a fast-paced design environment.
• Participate in the entire design cycle of flight and mission critical avionics.
• Support developmental trade studies.
• Create mechanical interface definitions, specifications, and control documents.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering to analyze PCB/interconnect thermal and structural aspects.
• Design avionics enclosure solutions for high reliability in harsh environments.
• Create 3D CAD models and assemblies, drawings and installation documentation.
• Build and evaluate prototype assemblies.
• Plan and conduct engineering tests and data reviews.
• Review assembly instructions and support hardware builds.
• Validate requirements through design, test, analysis, and inspection.
• Support Production and Quality by dispositioning material defects.
• Manage revisions through product lifecycle.
