Job summary

Western Aircraft in Boise, ID is seeking an Avionics Modifications Manager to lead integration services, coordinate certification with engineering, and develop customer proposals to ensure profitability and risk management. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on oversight of avionics installation and line services.

You will manage production staff, collaborate with sales, monitor projects for on-time, on-budget delivery, and drive process improvements while ensuring customer

Qualifications

• 10+ years in corporate aircraft avionics repair environment.
• 5+ years managing complex avionics modification & integration.
• 5+ years supervising/mentoring staff of 10+.
• Mastery of inspection and install procedures with troubleshooting.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints and directives.
• FCC license or FAA Repairman’s Certificate required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Airframe or Repairman’s certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer proposals with sales team.
• Meet with customers to review scope and resolve concerns.
• Coordinate with certification groups on costs and timing.
• Obtain approvals for discrepancies and modifications.
• Monitor projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Direct overall avionics workflow balancing priorities.
• Ensure cost data collection and billing to work orders.
• Communicate with customers during/after service visits for rapid resolutions.
• Assist in hiring, training, promotions, transfers and discipline.
