Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a senior avionics engineer to own the development, testing, and integration of GPS-based navigation system avionics for the Terran R launch vehicle. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams across propulsion, GNC, and software to ensure reliable RF performance and system integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing electronics for harsh environments and mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (GNC, mechanical, electrical, software) to develop integrated electronics solutions.
• Strong foundation in RF fundamentals, impedance matching, transmission lines, and RF propagation.

Responsibilities

• Own the development, test, and integration of GPS-based navigation system avionics for Terran R.
• Develop acceptance and qualification test plans and perform architectural trades.
• Provide technical guidance across the vehicle's RF architecture including telemetry downlinks, command uplinks, and antenna deployment.
• Mentor hardware engineers on RF design fundamentals and review design analyses.
