Job summary

Credence seeks a senior Avionics Hardware Engineering Support for the AFLCMC/WAM directorate at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The role focuses on system design, hardware/software integration, and mission computer upgrades for the F-16 platform, requiring a current TS clearance and ABET-accredited engineering credentials.

Ideal candidates bring DoD avionics experience, OFP development knowledge, and history translating legacy code to modern processors.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active TS clearance verifiable in DoD systems.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree required for the position.
• Minimum ten years of DoD-related experience for senior roles.
• Knowledge of fighter aircraft avionics, OFP development, and legacy-to-new language translation is valued.

Responsibilities

• Support System Design and Development by researching, designing, developing, and testing computer systems and components.
• Support next‑generation mission computer procurement and integration, including best practices for new software/hardware.
• Coordinate with software developers to integrate Open Systems Architecture (OSA) standards and obtain airworthiness approvals.
• Support Software Engineering by designing, developing, and modifying software systems using analytical methods.
• Assist hardware/software integration to ensure embedded systems work together reliably.
• Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for computer systems.
• Support weapons integration and test efforts for missiles and aircraft armaments.
• Assist software system testing and validation procedures to ensure quality and performance.
