Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Engineer/Principal Engineer Electronics - Avionics in Melbourne, FL. The role supports research, design, development and test of avionics hardware and flight systems with a direct collaboration to Cognizant Engineers.

The position requires a STEM degree and explicit U.S. government security clearance eligibility, with opportunities across integration, test and procurement processes in a fast-paced lab-to-aircraft environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in STEM with relevant engineering experience.
• US Government Interim Secret clearance required to apply/start.
• Experience with avionics hardware fundamentals and board-level tech.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and test prime mission equipment in labs and on aircraft.
• Manage suppliers and analyze design data for qualification and testing.
• Create equipment requirements documents for procurement.
• Prepare procurement documents (PDIR, SCD, SSOW) for sourcing.
• Support hardware analysis for maintainability and reliability.
