Gulfstream seeks an Avionics/Electrical Technician 4 at the Van Nuys/GAC site to lead testing and repair of avionics and aircraft systems. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, mentoring teammates, and ensuring safety and quality in daily work.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, six years in avionics/electrical fields or two years of schooling plus four years experience; A&P, FCC or NCATT preferred. Ability to read blueprints and work across shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience.
• A & P license, FCC license or NCATT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates avionics testing and troubleshooting expertise on aircraft systems.
• Teaches installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components per specs.
• Ensures quality and efficiency of installations and teaches troubleshooting processes.
• Repairs or replaces defective components and wiring per approved procedures.
• Oversees compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
• Sets up test equipment and conducts functional/operational tests.
• Maintains daily logs and complete documentation of work.
• Pre-inspects work before inspection to reduce rework.
• Provides knowledge in testing and maintaining test equipment and systems.
• Enforces FOD, tool control, 5-S and safety regulations.
• Adapts to sudden schedule changes.
• Coordinates with other disciplines on projects.
• Where required, teaches installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components.
• Self inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas.
• May include flight tests on aircraft as required.
