Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Cable Harness Design Engineer in Huntsville to lead the design and installation of electrical harnesses for power, RF, data, and communications across spaceflight systems.

You will create 3D routed harness data, 2D drawings, and support hardware installation while applying EMI/RFI knowledge and harness standards to ensure safe, reliable, repeatable spaceflight hardware. Promote cost-savings and schedule improvements.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field.
• 5+ years designing Wire Harnesses for Aerospace.
• Experience with Creo, Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD).
• Understanding of wire derating analysis and harness standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4).
• Strong 3-D CAD design and integration skills; US citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and install electrical harnesses for spaceflight systems.
• Create 3D routed harness data files and 2D harness drawings from 3D sets.
• Provide guidance for hardware installation and harness support design.
• Support assembly, testing of cables, and identify cost/schedule improvements.
