Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics in Wichita, KS is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in analog and mixed-signal design for avionics.  You will work on power electronics, battery systems, and data interfaces across the product lifecycle—from concept through certification and field support.

The role emphasizes precision instrumentation, signal conditioning and integration with RTCA/DO-160MIL-STD-810/461 compliant practices, with a strong team focus in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• As a baseline, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years in analog and mixed-signal design for precision instrumentation.
• Experience with design and simulation tools (PADS, LTSpice, or similar).
• Strong mixed-signal simulation and PCB layout knowledge.
• Understanding of signal integrity and EMI/EMC standards such as RTCA DO-160 or MIL-STD-810/461.

Responsibilities

• Design avionics, power electronics and battery systems for high-performance, safety-critical applications.
• Oversee the full lifecycle from concept to testing and certification, including field application.
• Provide analog/digital support to the power design team for AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC conversion.
• Collaborate with layout, mechanical, software, and certification engineers to ensure robust designs.
