Job summary

AMES is seeking a Technical Advisor to provide strategic, operational, and technical guidance across maintenance, quality, manufacturing, engineering, and planning disciplines. The role acts as a senior advisor and change agent to the General Manager, leading special projects, improvement initiatives, and cross-functional problem-solving to enhance performance and customer outcomes.

This is advisory and project-execution focused, not a routine management position, with emphasis on influencing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical experience in aviation maintenance within FAR Part 121 or Part 145 environments.
• Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of FAA regulations, especially FAR Parts 21 and 145.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9000 requirements.
• Ability to read and use Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Overhaul Manuals, and Service Bulletins.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with and influence across organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level advisory support within the assigned technical discipline.
• Deliver operational assessments, planning insights, and strategic recommendations.
• Support AMES functions across maintenance, quality, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Mentor leaders and teams on technical matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve technical performance and operations.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional problem-solving across departments.
