Job summary

C&S Companies, a national planning, design, and construction firm, seeks an experienced aviation planner to lead selling, winning, and managing airport planning projects from small to large scales for general aviation and commercial service airports.

Responsibilities include client contact, proposals, budgeting, and coordinating with agencies nationwide. Strong FAA policy knowledge and leadership in business development are essential. Travel across the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, or related field.
• AICP, LEED AP, ENV SP, PE, AAAE CM certification, or pilots license preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience specific to the position.
• Knowledge of FAA's Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and its grant processes.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
• Leadership experience including business development, aviation industry involvement, project management, and ability to manage and direct others

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of an on-call contract or specific project from identification of opportunities through project close out.
• Develop proposals and interviews, determine scope of work, estimate fees, negotiate contracts, budgeting, and cost control.
• Serve as primary client contact.
• Lead public and stakeholder participation sessions.
• Coordinate efforts with local, state, regional and federal agencies on behalf of clients.
• Maintain knowledge of aviation industry services, projects, and trends.
• Willingness to travel to client sites across the United States.
• Mentor and coach staff and contribute to West Coast practice growth in securing new clients
