Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a Chief Inspector & Senior Aviation Maintenance Technician in Mesa, AZ to oversee maintenance and modification activities, ensuring FAA compliance and airworthiness. The role may involve ODA Inspection Unit responsibilities and conformity inspections for flight test programs.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in general aviation maintenance, strong regulatory knowledge, and leadership in inspection programs within a Part 145 environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 10 years of experience maintaining general aviation light aircraft, business aircraft, and helicopters.
• Minimum 5 years of experience performing Chief Inspector/Quality Assurance/Airworthiness Conformity functions.
• Proficient knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, parts 1, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 39, 43, 45, 61, 91, 121, 135.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise and multi‑task in a fast paced environment.
• Team‑oriented with a positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
• Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office products.
• FAA A&P Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan and implement inspection standards and procedures per FAA regulations and manufacturer specs.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and training to ensure proper records and forms.
• Ensure compliance of aircraft, staff, paperwork and procedures with FAA regulations.
• Coordinate maintenance of inspection tools and calibration of precision test equipment.
• Lead training programs in accordance with Part 145 requirements.
• Ensure maintenance records are properly maintained and retrievable.
• Accomplish final acceptance of incoming material and airworthiness of work.
• Conduct conformity inspections in support of certification testing.
• Perform duties associated with ODA Inspection Unit Member Authorization.
• Conduct inspections, maintenance and modifications of company aircraft.
• Work with Engineering to develop aircraft installations of company products.
