Job summary

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Senior Aviation Military Analyst with extensive Army reconnaissance and attack aviation expertise to support Army Aviation modernization and capability development at Fort Rucker, AL. The role requires a senior SME to lead studies and produce technical analyses for government decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 15 years of Army Aviation flight/combat operations experience.
  • Rated Army Aviator with extensive reconnaissance/attack aviation experience.
  • Senior Army Aviator Badge or Master Army Aviator Badge.
  • Completion of professional military education equivalent to CGSC/ILE/etc.
  • Experience analyzing tactical employment of Army reconnaissance/attack aviation capabilities.
  • 5+ years in capability management, combat developments, or force modernization initiatives.
  • Experience planning and coordinating Joint Working Groups.
  • Ability to develop graduate-level technical products (white papers, concept papers, requirements documents, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with briefing senior military/government leadership.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain SAP access.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior SME for Army reconnaissance and attack aviation operations and doctrine.
  • Conduct operational and capability analyses supporting modernization and force initiatives.
  • Analyze tactical employment of reconnaissance/attack aviation to identify capability gaps and propose solutions.
  • Develop white papers, concept papers, requirements documents, operational views, and technical reports.
  • Lead aviation studies, operational assessments, and capability development initiatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Joint Working Groups, IPTs, and other forums.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve Army aviation capabilities.
  • Support JCIDS activities, including requirements development and documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams conducting aviation studies and evaluations.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings to senior leaders.
  • Review/edit technical products to ensure graduate-level quality with minimal revisions.
  • Independently produce high-quality analytical products.
