Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, Utah, seeks an Aerospace Vehicle Equipment Lead Systems Engineer (level 3/4) to drive AVE requirements, verification, and test activities for the Sentinel program.

The role requires a US citizen with active DoD Secret clearance and willingness to travel; primary tasks include coordinating with REs, reviewing test procedures, and interfacing with vendors and customers to ensure full system readiness.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with active DoD Secret clearance (within scope) and ability to obtain SAP approval.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-344/310 and RCC 319.
• Familiarity with IEC 60068, RTCA Do-160, ASTM, SAE and other environmental/test standards.

Responsibilities

• Decompose AVE segment requirements to lower levels based on service life and CONOPS.
• Own AVE environments; add environmental figures/tables in criteria documents.
• Review vendor specifications and verification methodology; support design reviews.
• Assist AVE Test engineers to develop procedures ensuring correct requirement interpretation.
• Review COTS for environmental suitability and recommend delta qualification testing.
• Witness testing as AVE Environments Engineer; approve ESS and vibration/thermal cycles.
• Support MRB/FRB during testing and screening events.
• Develop and review AVE requirements, verification methods, and architectures.
• Coordinate with REs and System Test for readiness of integrated functions.
• Interface with vendors and customers; travel ~25% to CONUS test locations.
