Job summary

CS Erickson is seeking a Lead AV Technician to coordinate, manage, and install AV projects, providing technical guidance to a team and ensuring timely completion. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and a passion for technology in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead AV technicians, plan installations, conduct site surveys, and ensure adherence to codes and safety guidelines while maintaining thorough documentation and delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in audiovisual technology or related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as an AV Technician or similar role is highly desirable.
• Experience leading a team is preferred.
• Proficient understanding of audiovisual equipment, systems, and signal flow; familiarity with video conferencing, audio mixing, lighting, and multimedia software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail for accurate setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment; travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of AV technicians, providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure high-quality work.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute AV projects including installation, termination, testing and commissioning of cables per designs.
• Conduct site surveys and assess AV requirements to determine materials and resources needed.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop AV plans meeting project needs.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety guidelines during installations and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot AV issues using specialized tools and diagnose faults to implement solutions.
• Perform cable terminations, splicing, and testing for copper, coaxial, and CAT cables to ensure network performance.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including as-built drawings and test results.
