Job summary

Shield AI in the United States seeks a Senior technical leader to define the long-term direction for the Launched Effects portfolio, guiding autonomy development and fleet-scale deployment across programs. You will partner with Autonomy, Perception, and hardware teams to shape architecture and deliver reliable capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, lead architectural reviews, and uphold rigorous engineering standards while traveling 10–20% for tests and demonstrations.

Qualifications

BS/MS in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience.
Expert-level C++ and Linux systems development experience.
Demonstrated experience defining technical strategy across multiple engineering teams or programs.
Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

Define the long-term technical direction for the Launched Effects portfolio and drive engineering strategy.
Develop and field autonomy capabilities, platform interfaces, and multi-agent coordination for fleet-scale deployment.
Collaborate across Autonomy, Perception, and hardware teams to influence architecture and execution.
Lead cross-functional reviews, ICDs, and post-mortems to raise engineering rigor.
Mentor staff and senior engineers, and contribute to standards and leveling.
