Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an experienced Software Integration Engineer to advance the Hivemind autonomy platform. You will become a power user of the Hivemind SDK, validate customer use cases, and provide actionable feedback to Engineering and Product teams.

You will bridge development work and real-world autonomous applications to empower mission-ready systems. You will work across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability and robust integration

Qualifications

• Requires 3–5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in CS, Comp Eng, Robotics, or related field; or 2 years and a master’s degree.
• Proficiency in Python or C++.
• Experience with autonomous systems or server applications or middleware.
• Experience designing integration workflows and triaging defects across subsystem boundaries.
• Proficiency with simulation tools and HIL testing environments.
• Strong expertise with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Become a systems integration expert for autonomous robotics and the AI-powered autonomy stack.
• Configure, deploy, and integrate multi-agent systems across simulation, HIL, and flight platforms.
• Understand end-to-end system from sensors to autonomous behaviours.
• Integrate new capabilities into the autonomy stack and ensure interoperability.
• Lead integration of autonomy software onto new robotic hardware.
• Configure sensor drivers, interfaces, and platform adapters for full stack on prototypes and production vehicles.
• Develop integration tooling and infrastructure for SIL, SIl, and flight environments.
• Analyze system behavior, diagnose defects, and drive resolution with developers.
• Optimize integration workflows and CI/CD pipelines for release readiness.
• Validate system requirements and interface contracts with engineering teams.
