Job summary

Archer is building a world-class autonomy platform for all-electric vertical takeoff aircraft in San Jose, CA. We seek an experienced engineer to lead system architecture for autonomous flight, develop guidance, navigation, and control software, and drive simulation and verification infrastructure.

You will work on real-time embedded C++ projects, collaborate with hardware teams, and advance end-to-end autonomy capabilities from design to deployment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in autonomy, robotics, or GNC software development.
• Strong knowledge of control theory, flight dynamics, and embedded systems.
• Experience in SIL and HIL simulations.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and system debugging.
• Experience debugging with hardware, sensors, networks or distributed systems.
• Experience writing data processing and visualization tools in C++.
• BS in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering; MS or autonomous systems preferred.
• Expert proficiency in C++ for real-time embedded software; ROS experience; Pixhawk integration.

Responsibilities

• Architect Autonomy and Control Frameworks for autonomous flight systems (Flight Control, Autonomy, High-Level Task Planning).
• GNC Software Integration: Design, implement, and integrate C++ software for guidance, navigation, and control; ensure portability and embedded deployment.
• Simulation Infrastructure: Develop simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test infrastructure.
• Verification Pipelines: Develop C++, Python, and MATLAB-based verification infrastructure to validate software.
