Job summary

Caterpillar's Cat Technology is seeking a Senior Autonomy Engineering Specialist (DevOps Architect) in Irving, TX to lead DevOps architecture across onboard mining and construction platforms, delivering scalable CI/CD, IaC, observability, and secure automation for embedded and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong Python and/or C++ for DevOps automation and system integration.
• Extensive experience with C++ build ecosystems, toolchains, cross-compilation, CMake, Conan.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Experience deploying apps across cloud, edge, and on-premise with containers.
• Ability to optimize pipelines for performance and reliability in embedded/distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve scalable DevOps architecture with CI/CD, IaC, observability, and security integration.
• Translate business needs into end-to-end DevOps solutions for onboard applications.
• Integrate development, build, test, and deployment with cloud, edge, and on-premise systems.
• Create reusable pipeline templates and infrastructure modules for MineStar products.
• Lead end-to-end DevOps delivery and ensure high-quality, secure releases.
• Mentor engineers and govern architecture artifacts and governance.
• Define metrics like deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR.
