Job summary

Pronto AI is seeking a Robotics Engineer to drive autonomy feature development from prototype to production on real vehicles. You will lead system-level debugging, coordinate deployments, and support field activities across customer sites to ensure robust performance.

You will work with hardware, safety, and product teams, traveling as needed. This role is based in San Francisco and requires onsite collaboration and leadership in mission-critical deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, Java, or C#.
• Evidence of robotics engineering with system-level ownership (integration, debugging, field support).
• Ability to design and debug scalable software systems with diagnostics and tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy autonomy features for real trucks (software + tests).
• Own system-level debugging across sensors, compute, networking, and controls.
• Lead deployments: bring-up plans, communicate requirements, identify risks, coordinate fixes.
• Support field deployments, including travel to customer sites and on‑vehicle debugging.
• Bring up and integrate new truck platforms with hardware and integration teams.
• Collaborate across hardware, operations, safety, and product to deliver safe autonomy.
• Travel up to 10% for customer sites.
• Schedule flexibility during deployments.
