Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service in Portland, OR is seeking a Senior Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles with accuracy and efficiency. You will apply advanced diagnostics and follow MAP guidelines, dealership and manufacturer standards to ensure quality work.

We offer strong pay from $30.00 to $55.00 per hour, plus benefits including weekly pay, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, holidays, health and life insurance, a 401(k) match, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience required.
• ASE certifications in lieu of experience.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
• Valid Driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess State Inspector License or ability to obtain a State Inspector license within 30 days of hire date.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs complex and heavy-duty repairs.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including the Store Manager, Service Consultants and customers.
• Recommends services to keep the vehicle running and documents recommendations in the customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports concerns to supervisor.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed (but never Sundays).
• Adheres to Sun Auto’s core values and company policies.
