Job summary

Greg’s Japanese Auto in Seattle, WA is hiring an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles per MAP guidelines and manufacturer standards. The role requires explaining findings to customers and staff, recommending necessary services, and documenting actions taken.

Candidates should have or be pursuing ASE certifications, possess a valid driver's license, and be willing to work five days per week including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE or equivalent experience or training.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work five days per week, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses vehicles according to certifications and experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the MPI/Repair Order with accuracy.
• Explains diagnosis and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Recommends services to keep vehicles in running condition and documents them.
• Follows safety procedures and reports concerns to supervisor.
• Maintains ASE certifications and renewals as needed.

Overview

The Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers and Greg’s Automotive standards.

COMPENSATION: UP TO $50/HR FLAG - VARIES UPON EXPERIENCE

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
