Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to lead end-to-end operations for a major automotive component manufacturer in East London, Eastern Cape. This on-site role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a track record of optimizing procurement, inventory, warehousing, and transportation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management and logistics, with a significant focus on the automotive industry.
Proven experience in inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
Strong understanding of supply chain principles, methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and best practices.
Experience with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Must be located in or willing to relocate to East London, Eastern Cape, for this on-site role.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic supply chain and logistics plans to support company objectives.
Oversee inventory management, including forecasting, planning, and control to ensure optimal stock levels.
Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
Optimize transportation routes and modes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
Ensure efficient warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping.
Implement and manage supply chain technologies and systems (ERP, WMS, TMS).
Monitor KPIs for supply chain and logistics operations and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and customs requirements.
Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain and logistics team.
Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains throughout the supply chain.
