Job summary

Ford is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Software Quality Assurance organization. You will drive early defect detection and prevention across automotive software platforms, coach teams on best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to improve software quality across automotive platforms.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, 10+ years in automotive software with emphasis on quality, and 2+ years in embedded development (C/C++, AUTOSAR) plus ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years in automotive software with emphasis on quality, warranty analysis, or V&V.
• 3+ years in defect detection and prevention methods.
• 2+ years embedded software with C/C++, AUTOSAR or similar.
• 2+ years ISO 26262 Functional Safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead early defect detection and prevention strategies across software development.
• Define methods and strategies for process improvement to enhance software quality and reliability.
• Conduct software design reviews to ensure compliance with architectural and quality standards.
• Support Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) efforts to proactively identify and mitigate software risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve software verification and validation processes.
• Coach and train engineering teams on software quality best practices, including ISO 26262 and ASPICE compliance.
