Job summary

Culbertson Resources Inc in the Houston area seeks an experienced Automotive Product Development Engineer to drive concept-to-production for automotive products and accessories. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to meet quality, cost, and performance objectives.

Responsibilities include managing projects from concept through launch, supporting design, testing, validation, and production readiness, and driving VA/VE improvements. Onsite in Houston area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of related experience.
• Experience with Stage Gate or similar product development processes.
• Experience with VA/VE methodologies.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, or similar.
• Knowledge of automotive vehicle systems and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with automotive testing and validation.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage automotive product development projects from concept through launch.
• Support product design, testing, validation, and production readiness.
• Participate in Stage Gate and structured product development processes.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs.
• Participate in DFMEA, design verification, and validation activities.
• Support new vehicle and product launch activities.
• Identify cost, quality, and process improvements through VA/VE and CI initiatives.
• Perform root cause analysis and support resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on design and integration.
