Job summary

General Motors in Tennessee is hiring for a senior automation controls role focused on high-volume ICE and BEV propulsion systems. You will design, implement, and validate control architectures across GM GPS facilities, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to meet program launches.

The role requires deep PLC/HMI/SCADA expertise, industry standards knowledge, and strong problem-solving for complex automation challenges in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years progressive experience in automation controls for automotive/industrial settings.
• Experience with PLC/NC programming and safety integration.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and control standards (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet).
• Experience with GM GCCS/GCCH architectures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and launch high-volume automation projects for ICE and BEV propulsion systems.
• Engage with GM suppliers and internal engineering teams for runoffs, design reviews, and validations.
• Develop and optimize control systems, troubleshoot hardware/software integration, and ensure safety compliance.
• Create BOMs, electrical drawings, and schematics per IEC/UL standards.
• Support program launches with cross-functional teams and provide direction to OEMs and integrators.
