Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 7+ years’ experience recommended.
• Expert in at least 1 powertrain area beneficial, but not a necessity.

Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert in subsystems in mechanical vehicle architecture (motors, engines, CVTs, transaxles).
• Develop and maintain vehicle and component mechanical specifications and qualification plans.
• Drive diligence and collaboration in requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering change notices and specifications.
• Employ project management methodologies to ensure predictable outcomes for department goals.
• Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects.
• Develop technology roadmaps and strategies for market success.
• Drive culture of traceable test acceptance criteria using reliability in designs.
• Mentor designers, lab technicians and other team members.
• Understand and influence regulatory standards affecting the product.
• Drive cross-functional teams to milestones for assigned projects.
• Self-manage large projects.
• Be an expert in problem-solving techniques (9-step, 8D, etc.).
• Be the first point of contact within engineering regarding customer issues.

Job description

The position offers the opportunity to be a Mechanical Engineer and work on a variety of growth initiatives in the electric and ICE vehicle space. The position requires the passion for learning about powertrain system design, supplier interactions, design and release of powertrain systems, and participate in projects in accordance with engineering excellence.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

• Subject matter expert in 1 or more subsystems in mechanical vehicle architecture (motors, engines, CVTs, transaxles).
• Develop and maintain a vehicle and component mechanical specification and qualification plan.
• Drive diligence and collaboration in requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering change notice and specifications.
• Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities.
• Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects.
• Develop technology roadmaps and strategies that clearly articulate how we are going to continuously win in chosen markets.
• Drive culture of traceable test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required

Expert in at least 1 of the following areas is beneficial, but not a necessity:

• Mechanical design and analysis of powertrains (electric motors, ICEs, CVTs, transaxles)

Experience:

• 7+ years’ experience is recommended.
