Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking a Sr Auto Maintenance Technician to perform level 1–3 automotive repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance at a Cox location in the United States. This role expects strong communication skills and teamwork with fellow technicians.

You will handle brakes, drivability, steering, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and engines, with safety compliance and quality checks. A valid driver's license, 5+ years of experience, and ASE/State certifications are required; a signing

• 8 Michigan State Certifications and/or ASE equivalents.
• Advanced diagnostic experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform level 1–3 auto tech responsibilities.

• Provide training and guidance to associates as needed.

The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Responsibilities

• This position offers a $ 1,500 New Hire Tool Bonus and a $2,000 New Hire Signing Bonus
• Performing the responsibilities of a level 1 - level 3 auto tech.
• Performing a wide range of repairs, including brakes, drivability, steering, suspension, electrical, safety inspections, AC, and major engine.
• Performing advanced diagnostics and complete repairs.
• Working with individual techs as required to assess specific vehicle needs.
• Provide general guidance/direction or train associates in supporting roles and or less experienced associates
• Perform quality control checks on all work; notify supervisor of exceptional or unsatisfactory work.
• Ensuring auto maintenance standard operating procedures and activities are conducted to deliver desired outcomes.
• Identifying developmental opportunities in staff.
• Monitoring workflow processes and recommending areas to improve productivity.
• Alerting management about difficult issues, patterns and trends.
• Modeling safety behaviors and ensuring techs comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Train, and instruct new and current employees regarding job functions/tasks expected of them when needed.
• Providing technical expertise and effective guidance and coaching to other shop employees.

Qualifications

• Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
• 5+ years of automotive service and repair experience.
• The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
• 8 Automotive/Light Truck Michigan State Certifications and/or ASE Equivalent Certifications.
• Advanced Diagnostic experience
• A high school diploma or GED.
• ASE Certifications: A1-8, (L1 in emission states) when required by leadership
