Job summary

KOSTAL of America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Hardware Electronics to lead hardware design for automotive control modules and switches.

You will oversee schematic design, analysis, PCB layout, testing, and troubleshooting across the full hardware lifecycle. The role requires a strong background in electrical hardware engineering, experience with CAN/LIN communication, and hands-on leadership of EMC-focused PCB layouts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in electronic hardware design, preferably in automotive.
  • Experience with LIN and CAN communication circuits.
  • Proficiency in DFMEA and thermal analysis.
  • Experience directing PCB layout with EMC considerations.
  • Experience with door control modules and memory seat modules, PWM DC motor controls preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design circuit board schematics of discrete electronics and embedded microprocessor based controls per system requirements.
  • Perform engineering analysis including DFMEA, Worst Case Circuit Analysis, and Thermal Analysis.
  • Interface with customers and internal teams; BOM selection of electrical hardware.
  • Lead hardware development through DV/PV, including EMC testing and troubleshooting.
  • Provide documentation of software control strategies related to hardware design.
  • Support bids with hardware development presentations for new business.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
