Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a Staff Electronic Design Engineer, Zonal, to advance cutting-edge battery-management and zonal hardware for next-generation vehicles. This hands-on role requires a strong electrical engineering foundation and a collaborative, fast-paced mindset.

Hybrid work arrangement applies as the team develops robust ECUs, power electronics, and full hardware lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of hardware design experience in automotive.
• Experience with automotive EMC/EMI design.
• Hands-on with lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).
• Familiar with Cadence and Altium for schematic capture.
• Ability to collaborate across mechanical, software, validation teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design lifecycle from concept to production.
• Design and validate ECU low-voltage zonal control modules.
• Tackle power electronics challenges including PMIC and eFUSE.
• Ensure signal integrity across PCBs, sensors, actuators, CAN/SPI/Ethernet.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the vehicle.
• Apply EMC best practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct root cause analysis on PCBAs.
• Support system integration across build phases.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and FUSA.
