Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Electrical Systems Technician to join our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain complex electrical systems across various vehicle makes and models, using advanced diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• A relevant trade qualification (e.g., NQF Level 3 or 4 in Automotive Electrical) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as an Automotive Electrical Technician.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical and electronic systems in modern vehicles.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting automotive wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic scan tools and multimeters.
• Knowledge of CAN and LIN networks; strong troubleshooting and attention to detail.
• Good communication and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive electrical faults (starting, charging, lighting, ignition).
• Interpret wiring diagrams, manuals, and diagnostic software to identify issues.
• Install and repair infotainment, navigation, and ADAS components.
• Troubleshoot vehicle networks (CAN/LIN/FlexRay) and test components for safety.
• Maintain records of diagnoses, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with technicians and advisors to ensure efficient vehicle repair.
