Job summary

Jabil is seeking a skilled technician for assembly automation and robotics support in Hanover Park, IL. The role involves diagnosing and repairing robotic and PLC-driven equipment, updating programs, and ensuring production lines run smoothly.

The position requires strong reading of electrical schematics, precision measurement, and the ability to work under general supervision with safety and quality programs in mind.

Qualifications

• HS or GED minimum; AS Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred; or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 6 years experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment running on PLC ladder logic.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic troubleshooting on assembly automation equipment.
• Repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems on automation equipment.
• Performs equipment failure analysis, repairs and preventative maintenance on robotic equipment.
• Sets up manual and semi-automatic assembly lines and assists in pre-production runs.
• Installs new automated equipment and relocates equipment as needed.
• Creates and edits robot programs; updates manuals and programs for automation.
• Keeps accurate reports of equipment activities and maintains production maintenance schedules.
