Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Senior Scientist – Automation to support high throughput screenings for drug discovery projects within the HTB Center.

The role focuses on automating hardware and software systems, developing methods, and ensuring seamless integration across data pipelines. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with automated high-throughput screening, HTS data processing, and command line interfaces on Windows and Linux.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required.
• Ten (10) years relevant post‑degree work experience is required.
• Eight (8) years of relevant post‑degree work experience is required with a Master’s degree.
• Six (6) years of relevant post‑degree work experience is required with a PhD.
• Automated high‑throughput screening and instrumentation (hardware); HTS data processing and CLI use on Windows and Linux (software).
• Interacting with SQL databases such as Oracle; software integration and data‑pipelining; Python/JavaScript/SQL/C# programming.

Responsibilities

• Support high throughput screenings for drug discovery projects with automation expertise.
• Develop and maintain automation methods and protocols to maximize capabilities.
• Collaborate with automation staff, assay development and HTS experts to optimize workflows.
• Work with informatic scientists and compound managers to build integrated data and automation pipelines.
