Octant Bio in Emeryville, California, is seeking a Research Associate to join the High-Throughput Screening (HTS) team and help build, scale, and execute the HTS platform for our drug discovery programs. You will support robust operations at scale using automation and data quality controls.

You will operate automated liquid handling systems and 384/1536-well workflows, analyze HTS data, troubleshoot artifacts, and collaborate across teams to optimize screening strategies for high-quality

Qualifications

• BS/BA in biology, biochemistry, genetics, or related field.
• 1–5 years in HTS, assay development, automation, and plate-based cellular or biochemical assays (384/1536-well).
• Experience operating automated lab instruments (BioTek MultifFlo, Agilent Bravo, Beckman Echo).
• Detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, improve, and execute HTS workflows leveraging automation and data quality control for robust operations at scale.
• Operate automated liquid handling equipment and multi-instrument systems for high-volume workflows.
• Analyze and interpret HTS data, identify assay artifacts, and troubleshoot to deliver reliable data.
• Collaborate across functions to develop and optimize screening strategies for high-quality decision-making.
