Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead an automated light-directed DNA synthesis platform for use in biomedical research and drug discovery.

The role involves applying the platform to oligonucleotide synthesis for various research functions and performing additional projects such as high-throughput screening and printing microarrays using legacy instruments.

Qualifications

• Background in chemical, biomedical, or electrical engineering.
• Experience in optics/photolithography, microfluidics, and related technologies.
• Knowledge of microarray technology, microscopy, microfabrication, ink‑jet technology, surface/materials science, or similar fields.
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific area.
• Minimum Experience: Ten (10) years relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree; eight (8) years with a Master’s degree; or five (5) years with a PhD.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the automated light‑directed DNA synthesis platform.
• Apply the platform to oligonucleotide synthesis for various research functions.
• Perform additional projects such as high‑throughput screening and printing microarray technology using legacy instruments (e.g., Quanterix Microarrayers and light‑directed synthesizers).
