Job summary

PSC Biotech in Pomona, CA, is seeking an experienced Automation Process Engineer to support automation projects in a regulated life sciences environment. You will manage change controls, documentation, and commissioning of automated systems, working with PLCs, PCS, and PI Historian tools.

The role requires hands-on experience with automation lifecycle documentation (URS, FRS/FDS, CS, SDS, HDS, RS) and cross-functional collaboration to deliver compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 7–10 years of automation/controls experience in regulated environments.
• Experience with PLC modifications and Process Control System updates.
• Experience with PI Historian systems and automated reporting.
• Experience drafting and maintaining computerized system lifecycle documentation (URS/FRS/FDS/CS/SDS/HDS/RS).

Responsibilities

• Generate, manage, and close Engineering Automation Change Controls for projects.
• Support automation changes involving PLCs, PCS, PI Historian, Vantagepoint, and commissioning.
• Author and maintain lifecycle documentation (URS/FRS/FDS/CS/SDS/HDS/RS).
• Develop and update engineering docs: SOPs, drawings, data sheets, WRKs, FRMs.
• Draft, execute, and document Acceptance Testing and Commissioning protocols and reports.
• Initiate and manage ECNs and Issues Logs.
• Perform CPP/CQA risk assessments on systems and equipment.
• Provide project management support for automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Validation, Manufacturing, and Automation teams.
• Maintain documentation per site procedures and regulatory requirements.
