Last Mile Engineering in New York is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Designer to lead automation and material handling equipment initiatives for next-generation delivery station designs.

You will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our delivery stations and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with up to 40% travel to engage with leaders and stakeholders.

• Experience leading automation and MHE design initiatives for last mile networks.

• Strong collaboration across internal/external teams to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal automation/MHE equipment design solutions for the last mile network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects, retrofits and building designs
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
• Ability to travel up to 40% to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.
