Job summary

Gov Solutions Group in North Charleston, SC, seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to provide senior technical leadership in designing, integrating, and sustaining complex hybrid environments for NIWC RDT&E mission needs. You will drive automation, patch management, and secure operations across Windows Server, on-premises and cloud resources.

You will implement IaC, manage WSUS pipelines with PowerShell, and enforce DoN cybersecurity controls to maintain accreditation and mission continuity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• 10 years of progressive IT Systems Engineering/Administration experience
• Experience creating custom automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience administering and securing Microsoft Enterprise Servers (physical and virtual)
• Ability to design and support secure Microsoft environments using Group Policy, WSUS, scripting, and automation
• Experience supporting Windows enterprise environments in classified and unclassified networks

Responsibilities

• Create and deploy automated task sequences in PowerShell/WSUS including migrations, image deployments, and configuration management
• Deploy third-party software using best practices or WSUS repositories
• Integrate enterprise tools into WSUS managed environments (DAR, WDS, ManageEngine, Dell Command)
• Automate deployments and configuration using IaC (Ansible and/or Azure ARM templates)
• Design and configure infrastructure to support resilient hybrid environments (SAN/NAS, network, servers)
• Configure and administer Azure VMs, session hosts, VNets, and storage for AVD
• Manage VMware vSphere and Hyper-V virtualization (planning, troubleshooting, documentation)
• Install and administer hybrid provisioning and analytics tools (VMware vRealize)
• Perform installation, maintenance, and security hardening in classified/unclassified networks
• Implement and maintain STIGs and cybersecurity controls for DoN accreditation/ATO
• Conduct system planning, design, V&V, and fielding activities
• Provide technical support and monitoring of Windows systems
• Prepare engineering analyses, reports, and change proposals
• Collaborate with systems admin and helpdesk to improve troubleshooting
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications; work independently
• Other duties as assigned
