Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks an Automation Engineer to design and integrate automated test systems for service hubs and factory service centers. You will work closely with Service Quality and Reliability to ensure tool repair processes meet high standards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, strong root-cause analysis skills, and hands-on experience with industrial systems.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA)
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is a plus
• Hands on experience with building, integrating, and debugging industrial systems
• Ability to provide candid feedback to coworkers and leadership
• Willing to travel (15 %) – Travel includes: Greenwood, IN, Greenwood, MS, Toronto, ON

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain electrical schematics for system power, safety, measurements and panel layouts.
• Specify and approve design uncertainty for measurements devices.
• Collaborate with calibration vendor to verify uncertainty.
• Define facilities power requirements for the system.
• Conduct impedance, filtering, amperage, power, voltage calculations.
• Develop equipment and test systems for Service Hubs and Factory Service Centers.
• Integrate and troubleshoot hardware, sensors, and motion devices across global service centers.
• Drive discussions on system requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Create system documentation including BOM and instructions.
• Coordinate with vendors for BOM material, costs, and schedule.
• Assess project risks and report to leadership on cost, schedule, procurement, design, safety.
