Job summary

The Headhunters, LLC is seeking a Sr. Automation Development Engineer to join an industrial firm delivering intelligent automation solutions for oil & gas, utilities, data centers, and energy infrastructure.

You will develop custom control panels, perform HMI programming, and lead SCADA configurations for critical power projects. Responsibilities include onsite installation support, reviewing client specs, and communicating effectively with customers throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

BSEE and 5+ years of experience in automation and control systems, preferably for power distribution and control products (substations)
Experience in HMI programming and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
A background in PLC programming is a strong plus
Strong understanding of electrical design (circuits, power, etc.) with the ability to read detailed electrical drawings.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Develop custom control panels and SCADA solutions for intelligent substation devices across multiple industries
Inspect equipment after HMI development, install at customer sites, and test to meet requirements
Review client specifications to produce Functional Design, drawings, and test documentation
Design and configure SCADA systems using WonderWare InTouch and FactoryTalk
Serve as primary customer contact to ensure requirements are understood and addressed
