Job summary

Eaton's Mobility division seeks a Lead Automation Engineer to drive manufacturing efficiency through automation projects. This is a remote, high-travel role supporting 5+ U.S. manufacturing sites with travel 50–75%.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 3+ years automating manufacturing processes, and experience in CARs, supplier management, and safety improvements. Travel nationwide is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of experience automating manufacturing processes.
  • Remote eligibility limited to specified states; travel 50–75% across the USA.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred).
  • Experience with Forging, Machining, Grinding, Assembly (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Identify automation opportunities within the North American region.
  • Develop scopes of work for automation opportunities.
  • Establish a reliable automation supply base and obtain proposals.
  • Prepare financial justification for automation projects.
  • Develop CARs for automation projects.
  • Manage capital and expense spending for assigned projects.
  • Procure equipment and tooling per project plan and standards.
  • Investigate, analyze and recommend new/alternate equipment and methods.
  • Coordinate best-practice implementations between facilities.
  • Troubleshoot/Support existing automation with controls and robotics.
  • Attend trade shows to stay current with automation technology.
